Book Journals
It should be noted that EACH JOURNAL IS UNIQUE, as in one of a kind. they are all made from recycled book covers and because of it each one is a different size. but please know that we do our best to only put up journals that are of an average or reasonable size. if you have questions about how big a journal is please email me, i'd love to give you more information.
the journals are filled with about
75 sheets of 24/60#, acid free, BLANK paper, which is a nice journaling or sketching paper.
inside the front cover and throughout every book we retain any beautiful cover pages, illustrations,
library cards, maps, inscriptions, or what-have-you found in the book (we find all
kinds of beautiful stuff in these old books). and it's all held together with a
black plastic spiral.
Silk-Screened Journals
these journals i have silk-screened myself, here's what i did: i bought bright colored books with no images on them
and designed covers that i liked, made them into screens and printed them onto the covers of journals. therefore
each journal in the silk-screened
journals section is an original-- so the one you pick out is the one you are getting. i have left
some of the original pages from
book in these as well, just to keep it fun and interesting. and each journal contains the same as the book journals--
75 sheets of
24/60# BLANK paper, which is a nice journaling or sketching paper. if you don't see enough of one style of silk-screened
journal please email me and i'll print some up for you at no extra cost.
Nudie Journals
we make journals using 5x7 inch vintage nudie playing cards, mostly from the 60's although some are
from the early 70's. they are in very good taste, the women are full-figured and the colors are very bright, i love them!
All of the nudie journals include the same 24/60#
paper as the book journals but happen to have more like 100 or 110 pages inside.
the covers are softer than regular books but they are manufactured with a
plastic coating that makes them pretty darn durable (they're not your average playing card).
all in all they're a great purse-sized journal!
Ordering Information
as you're looking through our catalogue of journals you can double-click on any one
to see an enlarged view. if you decide you like the book you have enlarged then
drag it to the shopping cart on the right and-- Poof! it's in your cart. add as many books as you like. if you decide you don't want one, that's okay, just drag it to the trash area.
as soon as your cart holds all the journals you would like, click the "check out"
button which will prompt you to enter your name and address (you dont have to, but
it helps if you leave your email address in case there's a problem). at this point
you are also given the option of choosing to pay by sending a check (payable to J. Deatherage) or paying by
credit card. by choosing the credit card option you will be taken to paypal.com, where
you can use your existing paypal account or pay via credit card even if you dont
have a paypal account (although if you don't have a paypal account and you pay via credit card, you will have a paypal account when you're done).

please note that after you have "confirmed" your order your journals will automatically be removed from the site, so
if you click on the "back" button and you see your journals that you just ordered still there
don't fret-- just click on your refresh
button and new books should pop up to replace the ones you ordered.
Custom Orders
we here at Ex Libris Anonymous will bind any book you send us for the small price of
$10! feel free to send us as many books as you want and i'll make them for you and
ship them back to you for free.
let me know which pages (no more than 5) you would me to include inside the book-- you can put post-its
on the certain pages or little notes or one big notes or what-have-you, as long as
its clear. if you just indicate the pages, i will evenly place them through-out the book, or
you can include in your note how you would like them to be placed in the journal.
then just go ahead and send it to me at the address listed on the contact page of this site and include a check
for the total amount, or email me if you'd like to Paypal me the money. and
let me tell you-- you're gonna love it when i'm through with it!
